Tom van Aken, Chief Executive Officer of Avantium, commented: “Following the successful production of the first FDCA at our FDCA Flagship Plant, we are entering an exciting new phase. This achievement marks an important step in our transition into a company focused on the production and global commercialization of FDCA and PEF. We are now producing additional FDCA, completing qualification activities and preparing for the first commercial deliveries under existing offtake agreements, expected toward the end of 2026. The successful production of FDCA at commercial scale represents an important step in the validation of our proprietary YXY® Technology and supports our licensing strategy for future FDCA and PEF production facilities. We have secured 23 offtake agreements for material to be produced at our FDCA Flagship Plant and 17 capacity reservation agreements representing more than 150 kilotonnes of potential annual production capacity from future licensed facilities, while advancing licensing discussions with prospective partners around the world.

The fully committed and underwritten circa €55 million rights offering that we announce today is intended to support the ramp-up of our Flagship Plant, strengthen our commercial and licensing activities and provide the funding needed to execute our growth strategy. The Offering will also strengthen our balance sheet and address the Company’s identified funding requirements as we continue the transition towards commercial operations. Together with the proposed €20 million loan from the NOM (the Investment and Development Agency for the Northern Netherlands), which would provide the Company with additional financial headroom, the Offering forms an important part of our broader financing plan and supports our ambition to build a leading global business around FDCA, PEF and YXY® Technology. We are grateful for the continued support of our shareholders, public partners and other stakeholders. Their commitment reflects a shared belief in the potential of FDCA and PEF to transform the plastics industry. We welcome both existing and new investors who share our ambition to create substantial value by bringing renewable and circular materials to market.”
